In His Image Company is a Christian dance company based in Tallahassee Florida.  The goal of this company is for dancers to cultivate a deeper Christian dance community, grow in dance technique, and build repertoire (Classical, Contemporary, and Worship). Members will learn how to perform for God’s glory and serve those around them.  The impact we wish to leave on the community is to provide a clear presentation of the gospel as well as show Christ's love through the way our students dance and how they serve.  Within our dancers we want to instill a drive to pour back into younger dancers and the Tallahassee community.

Aslan

David Hawn

David is thrilled to bring Aslan to the stage in this production of Narnia. He trained at Greenleaf Performing Arts Academy and later continued pre-professional studies with Ballet Magnificat!, where he developed a deep love for storytelling through dance. His work ranges from ballet and contemporary to hip-hop, breakdance, and film projects. David is thankful to be part of this production and hopes this story inspires audiences with its message of strength, sacrifice, and redemption.

The White Witch

Laura Green

Laura Green is honored to bring the chilling character of the White Witch to life in this year’s Narnia Ballet. A dancer since age three, she trains at Wildwood Ballet, The Tallahassee Ballet, and In His Image Dance Studio, and has performed roles such as Clara in The Nutcracker and Susan in last year’s Narnia production. Her preparation for the Witch has included character development with Jillian Porter and partnering work with David Hawn (Aslan), studying how the Witch mirrors Satan—deceptive, prideful, and destructive. Though the role is dark and demanding, Laura has embraced its significance, recognizing how the Witch’s cruelty stands in striking contrast to Aslan’s humility and sacrificial love. She hopes this portrayal highlights the powerful Gospel message woven through the ballet: “Even when it seems as if evil will win — God wins in the end.”

Zachariah Thomas

Composer of IHI's Narnia "Faun's Lullaby"

The Faun's Lullaby

The music of Zach Thomas magnifies the wonder and strangeness of our world, and revels in the redeeming character of God. His performers include the Cleveland Chamber Symphony, Sonar New Music Ensemble, the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC) Symphony, the Atlantic Music Festival Orchestra, the UMBC New Music Ensemble, and bassist Yoshiaki Horiguchi. His works have been broadcast on KVMR 89.5, and WMBC radio. Mr. Thomas has conducted funded research on dynamic just intonation. He has an ardent love of sacred music and has lead worship at churches across North America. Mr. Thomas holds an M.M. in Music Composition from Bowling Green State University and a B.A. in Music Composition and B.M. in Performance/Musicology from the University of Maryland Baltimore County. Along with his wife and children, Mr. Thomas currently resides in Tallahassee Fl.

The Faun’s Lullaby has been a delightful portion of this ballet to focus on the last few months. In the scene in Tumnus’ cave in The Lion The Witch and The WardrobeLewis crafted deep emotions, and a powerful image of repentance, confession, and forgiveness with very few words. Tumnus’ motive (heard most clearly as he lulls Lucy to sleep) captures a nobility, mystery and sadness that Tumnus especially bears. He is a noble soul, prone to gaiety, but entrapped by fear. He is called to courage by Lucy’s tenderness and goodness to him. His decision to reject the witch’s devices challenges us to walk with boldness and faith, even when the immediate result seems uncertain.
